INDEPENDENCE

TO PARAPHRASE MY GOOD FRIEND BOLITA, I AM INDEPENDENT ONLY IN FINANCE; IN FRIENDSHIP, SPIRIT AND SUPPORT, I AM FAR FROM IT. BUT HOW LUCKY AM I TO BE ABLE TO COUNT MYSELF AS SOMEONE WHO CAN DEPEND ON IDEAS, PEOPLE, CULTURE AND COUNTRIES WHILE I PURSUE MORE INDEPENDENCE?

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY INDEPENDENCE DAY FROM TOKYO!

Wait, is the paraphrase from Bolita just the first sentence here, or the whole thing? Who is Bolita? What did he or she actually say, pre-paraphrase?

Regardless of your answers to these questions of mine, I, your mama, love this entry. Your freedom of mind and spirit will always be the best thing you own, followed closely by friends, family, and support.

And belonging to a particular place and culture or two, makes you a card-carrying earthling, with roots attached to your feet.

Where was the celebration? and were there fireworks?

love, mama

Bolita is a good friend of mine to whom i would love to introduce you when you visit next! She graduated from the same high school as Pop, believe it or not!!!

She basically said the first line in Japanese on her blog.

Celebration was good. There were free cans of drinks for a mere ¥1000 entrance fee! Good bands, bad bands, good food, it was fun. What did you do for the Fourth? Something fun, I bet!
